About Puppy Style

Puppy Style is a small, local, home-based dog grooming salon born in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic in order to create a safe, personal, one-on-one experience for dogs and their owners. Now with covid-19 regulations eased up contact-free curbside is no longer required but if you prefer I can still offer this service by meeting you in the driveway when you arrive. Appointments are also overlapped now that safety concerns have lifted in order to eliminate down time between dogs but it is still a much less busy environment then a high volume salon since there is only 1-3 dogs in the salon at a time (depending on how many dogs per family). Whenever you contact the salon you can have comfort knowing you are speaking directly to the groomer that will be handling your dog! The shampoos and other products used at the salon are high quality pet products purchased from grooming supply stores. No heavy perfumes or colognes are used: just shampoo, conditioner, Sho Sheen, and After Bath conditioning spray. Towels are used once before getting washed and are washed using Ecos laundry detergent and no fabric softener. Table and blades are disinfected between dogs and floors and bath disinfected daily. about the groomer

Hi, name is Stephanie and I am the owner and groomer at Puppy Style! I have 3 years of experience grooming in a high volume pet grooming salon prior to opening Puppy Style, plus 2 years at Puppy Style, and can do many haircut types and breed clips. I also provide hand scissoring for breeds like Pomeranians. I love to try new things so if there is something you would like done differently don’t hesitate to ask! I used to (before Covid) regularly attend dog grooming expos, shows, and group training classes to keep my grooming knowledge sharp and keep up with online communities of groomers, equipment sharpeners, dog trainers, and veterinarians.

I enjoy the art of grooming and love being with dogs! I have a gentle and patient nature so dogs usually warm up to me during the first grooming session: even difficult dogs. The second grooming session is usually much easier then the first because of the dog’s memory from the first one. I am actually known for giving puppies a great first experience for grooming so if you are worried about them becoming fearful Puppy Style is the salon you should trust! If you have an aggressive dog please tell me everything you can about your dog’s behavior prior to their grooming appointment so I can be prepared and write down detailed notes.

The entire experience for your puppy/dog is a lot less stressful then in a typical high-volume salon. I do sometimes overlap appointments to avoid downtime between appointments but it is far less then what would be at a high volume salon with multiple groomers. Dogs do not mingle/meet each other so it is a stress-free environment for the dogs and I can give treats without any worry about resource guarding from other dogs. Also because it is just me I can freely sing and speak to the dog without embarrassment which I think makes the experience more comfortable for them! Dogs often come in looking worried and end the groom relaxed and happy; some even get excited to see me during their next appointment!
